Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for a hands-on role covering a mixture of workshop and site work? Join our engineering team supporting the installation, maintenance and repair of industry-leading dairy and ice cream machinery. Based from our Leicestershire workshop, with travel to customer sites across the UK and occasional trips abroad.

BASIC SALARY: Up to £48,000 depending on your experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: Service Engineer, Mechanical Engineer - Food Machinery, Process Equipment

You’ll be part of our tight-knit engineering team delivering full after-sales support to customers in the food manufacturing sector, primarily dairy and ice cream production.

This is a broad hands-on role offering a mix of workshop- and on-site work. From mechanical assembly and stainless steel welding, sheet metal / fabrication to installations and breakdown repairs, no two weeks will look the same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Service Engineer, Mechanical Engineer - Food Machinery, Process Equipment

· Pre-delivery inspections and mechanical testing at our Leicestershire workshop
· Mechanical installation and commissioning of ice cream and dairy processing machinery
· Troubleshooting and repairs – both mechanical and some basic electrical
· Providing on-site service and support to a UK-wide customer base
· Customer training post-installation
· Routine maintenance and updating technical documentation

YOUR BACKGROUND: Service Engineer, Mechanical Engineer - Food Machinery, Process Equipment

We’re looking for a good all round mechanically biased engineer who enjoys variety and working on complex machinery.

· Experience working with mechanical systems – ideally in food processing, packaging, or manufacturing environments
· You will have stainless steel welding and fabrication experience
· A solid understanding of mechanical and basic electrical principles
· Experience working with equipment such as conveyors, fillers, hoppers, mixers, or other food processing machinery is desirable
· You must be willing to travel and stay overnight when required for installations and servicing
· You’ll hold a full UK driving licence
