A leading logistics and supply chain organisation is seeking a proactive and driven Senior Category Buyer to support the Procurement Manager in delivering a strategic, cost-effective procurement service across a broad portfolio of clients and sites for a contract period of 5 months

This is a key opportunity to play an active role in sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance-ensuring value for money and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery and implementation of commercial sourcing strategies for GNFR (Goods Not For Resale) spend.
  • Lead sourcing activities when required, ensuring compliance and due diligence.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contract terms through to approval and sign-off.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on supplier performance reviews to drive improvement.
  • Use cost evaluation tools to support finance and inform procurement decisions.
  • Provide input and advice on supplier disputes and resolution strategies.
  • Lead and support procurement change initiatives aligned with continuous improvement principles.
  • Deputise for the Procurement Manager when required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Solid experience in procurement, especially with GNFR or indirect spend.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Good knowledge of commercial contracts and compliance processes.
  • Analytical approach with financial awareness and cost modelling experience.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across various levels.
  • Experience with change management and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Well-organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
