The HGV Mechanic Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Mechanic to join our transport maintenance team. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing our fleet of vehicles and trailers to DVSA/VOSA standards, ensuring the highest levels of reliability and compliance.
HGV Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and site vehicles.
- Conduct pre-MOT checks and ensure all work meets DVSA/VOSA standards.
- Complete all required maintenance records and service documentation accurately.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Support the wider transport team with ad hoc maintenance or operational duties as needed.
HGV Mechanic Experience:
- Recognised qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices and workshop standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class CE desirable but not essential).
