Our Client, a market leader in civils products. A well-established business that is doing exceptionally well and have exciting, further expansion plans.
Our client require a Technical Sales Engineer to work out of their offices in the East Midlands region. The Head Office is based in the East Midlands from where you would ideally be based each day or in a hybrid working model. You will also be working within National Accounts and projects throughout the UK, so National travel will also be required.
As a Technical Sales Engineer you will be fully versed on the Construction process from start to finish and be able to communicate well with the relevant department heads in order to accommodate the needs of the client, for each individual project.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be expected to build up a rapport with the decision makers and technical department heads, in order to ensure the specification is protected, the project confirmed and the order processed and installed. This will be an ongoing process and an essential attribute for the position.
We need to find a commercially minded salesperson or civil engineer from the civils sector, who understands construction, a construction site, the construction process, the construction sales process from specification to order and who understands the civils market.
You may be an Engineer looking to move into a move commercial role and get out on site. You may be a Specification salesperson looking to move into a more Technical Sales role.You may be a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager within Civils looking for a move.
The Technical Sales Engineer / National Account Manager / Key Accounts Manager will ideally come from a civils background, however, the company will accept applications from anyone of a "technical construction" or "construction sales" background. Experience within the construction industry in general in a necessity.
The Technical Sales Engineer will have the following attributes/knowledge, with respect to the construction industry and the role:
- Overview of the construction process at the vary stages
- Technical knowledge of certain products required at certain stages of the construction process
- Be aware that the client objective may be cost reduction, environmental, longevity, and how to approach each objective individually
- Who the key influences and people of interest would be in any project
- Best route to market for the project
- How to finalise specifications and then protect them
- A personable demeanour, especially with clients
- A team orientated outlook
