Job Overview:Working with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their established team.

Remit:

  • As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for effectively managing the Maintenance, Development and Site service teams to ensure plant/ equipment availability, reliability and performance
  • You will be required to lead, manage and further develop a team of over 20 engineering colleagues, engaged in the maintenance of injection moulding machines, automation and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and effective reactive maintenance response to unplanned breakdowns.
  • Maintain an effective planned maintenance program.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for our manufacturing processes thru monitoring production data and root cause failure analysis.
  • Manage maintenance and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Effectively manage spare part procurement and stockholding levels.
  • Identify and justify yearly capex projects - needed to keep the plant running at budgeted levels of performance.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Participate in safety, production, management and planning meetings.
  • Manage capex/ project procurement, installation and handover process.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe working environment and advocate safe working practices are always adopted by employees, including the management of contractors whilst working on site.
  • To comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures and promote good working practices throughout the workforce.
  • Continue to further develop the engineering team with internal and external training.
  • Oversee that the site complies to all company / UK health and safety legislation, in terms of inspection, servicing and remedials of buildings, plant and equipment.

Requirements:

Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in engineering management, ideally within an injection moulding environment however other manufacturing industries will be considered.
  • Strong technical knowledge of injection moulding machinery, automation systems, and ancillary equipment.
  • Track record of implementing effective planned and reactive maintenance strategies.
  • Experienced in managing capex projects from justification through to installation and handover.
  • Experience managing teams and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Budget management experience, with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
