About the Role - Workshop Supervisor

Location: Lawrence Hill, Bristol

Hours: 38 per week - 7:00-15:00 Monday to Friday

Annual leave: 25 days

The Workshop Supervisor's role is to support the Workshop Manager in daily operations, oversee engineering staff to ensure health and safety compliance, allocate and prioritise vehicle maintenance tasks, liaise with Operations to meet vehicle needs, conduct quality control checks, and manage on-site contractors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Workshop Manager (WSM) and assist in the operation of the workshop
  • Continually monitor engineering staff's adherence to First's H&S policies
  • Assign work to the Vehicle inspectors and engineers in accordance with the WSM's maintenance and inspection plan
  • Prioritise and assign work found on vehicle inspections and driver defects.
  • Liaise with the Operations team to ensure their vehicle requirements are met
  • Ensure all work meets First's quality requirements by carrying out regular quality control checks
  • Management of any Contractors working on site

About You

  • Relevant NVQ level 3 or City & Guildsequivalent qualification is essential
  • Computer Literacy is essential to this role; can you demonstrate a good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint?
  • Must be a UK resident and be able to prove Right to Work
  • Do you hold a clean UK driving licence?
  • Do you have an understanding of DVSA's categorisation of defects (advantageous)?
  • A PSV licence it's not essential, we will help you obtain this as long as you have a clean standard UK drivers licence already.
