We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to join our team and inspire students to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.The RoleAs a Computer Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and rigorous lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5), equipping students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a digital age.

You will foster curiosity, logical thinking, and creativity through a curriculum that includes:

  • Programming (Python, Java, or similar)
  • Algorithms and data structures
  • Computer systems and architecture
  • Cybersecurity and networks
  • Databases and software development
  • Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies (desirable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that challenge and inspire.
  • Develop students' coding, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and digital tools to enhance learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities such as coding clubs, hackathons, or robotics.
  • Stay current with technological advancements and integrate them into teaching.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with exam board specifications (e.g., OCR, AQA, Edexcel).
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience teaching A-Level Computer Science or BTEC IT.
  • Knowledge of AI, machine learning, or game development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, version control (e.g., Git), or databases.
  • A passion for digital innovation and student engagement.
  • Willingness to lead or support extracurricular tech initiatives.
