Your new companyHays are delighted to be supporting one of our key clients in the social housing sector in recruiting a Housing Compliance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role split between home, site (locations across Birmingham) and the office, working as part of the in-house maintenance team to manage, monitor and improve health and safety, and compliance standards across their housing stock.Your new roleResponsibilities of your role include:

  • Carry out site compliance inspections, including compliance checks on Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Asbestos audits.
  • Provide health and safety support and training to colleagues across the in-house maintenance team.
  • Collect and interpret site data to present back to senior management.
  • Ensure work completed following inspections reaches compliance standards across Fire, Asbestos, etc.
  • Ensure assessments and audits are completed in line with legislation and by key deadlines.
  • Support internal teams with investigations into 'near-miss- events and ensure corrective actions are taken to ensure no repeat incidents.
  • Highlight any areas where further training/certification is needed to meet housing standards.

This is a Monday to Friday position, 39 hours per week, on a hybrid working pattern between site (housing stock), home, and office.What you'll need to succeedIn order to succeed in this role you will require experience of operating in a similar position within the social housing sector, or similar related industry. You will be IOSH/NEBOSH qualified or have a similar relevant qualification within health and safety within construction/housing. You should be able to demonstrate significant experience of carrying out compliance inspections across housing stock and extensive experience of investigating health and safety, legionella, fire safety, asbestos inspections and audits etc. You will require good working knowledge of in-house housing maintenance teams, and full understanding of regulatory health and safety and compliance frameworks and legislation.Visa sponsorship will not be offered for this role and so candidates must have the right to work in the UK at the time of applicaiton.
