A leading national audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm with a global reach and local expertise is looking for an Audit Manager to join the team covering Cheltenham and the West Midlands. Along with a salary of £55,000 per annum, you will receive a fantastic range of benefits including £4,500 car allowance, bonus scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance, plus more! Their vision is to be recognised as essential to the future success of their clients by helping them to answer tomorrow’s questions through the highest quality audit, tax, advisory and consulting services. This is where talented people can realise their potential, are successful and enjoy what they do by making a positive difference to their clients, communities and each other. What you’ll be doing as Audit Manager:You will be joining the leading firm of auditors to the charity sector committed to delivering a quality service to a high-profile portfolio of clients. The role will involve working with a variety of charities and other not for profit organisations from startups to well established, prestigious clients within the sector (including INGOs, grant makers, schools, academies, membership organisations, professional bodies and housing associations), many of whom are top 100 charities or household names.
  • Managing a portfolio of external audit clients to deliver a year-round service including building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Managing several audit teams and ensuring planned work is completed within the agreed budget and timescales from planning through to completion.
  • Acting as a principal contact for your clients through the year delivering a proactive service.
  • Preparing and presenting of reports to senior management and Audit Committees/Boards.
  • Direct, coach and mentor audit teams to assist them in the delivery of engagements.
  • Being proactive in Business Development activities and developing, maintaining and monitoring your own network.
  • Having involvement in proposals and presentations for new work.
  • Participating in team and firm wide activities and training opportunities.
What we’re looking for in an Audit Manager:
  • Qualified ACA, ICAS or ACCA.
  • A good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of Charity audits and the not-for-profit sector, including the Charities SORP is an advantage, although not essential.
  • Strong people management skills enabling you to support, coach and mentor more junior colleagues.
  • An interest in the not-for-profit sector.
