We're looking for a Neighbourhood Service Manager to join a Housing Association based in Birmingham on a temporary basis. This role you will lead the Neighbourhood Services Team to maintain top standards in estate management and building safety. You'll oversee communal services, manage contracts, drive improvements, and ensure neighbourhoods are safe, well-kept, and thriving communities.Job Title: Neighbourhood Service ManagerContract Type: Temp- 3 month Hourly Rate: £33 - £34hr Location: Birmingham Neighbourhood service manager responsibilities:
  • Service Delivery & Quality Oversight: Lead and monitor communal service delivery, building safety checks, scheme audits, and ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards are consistently met across the portfolio.
  • Team & Performance Management: Recruit, train, and develop staff; manage performance, conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings; and handle disciplinary and sickness procedures.
  • Resident & Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with residents, partners, and agencies; coordinate engagement activities and local initiatives to build community pride and involvement.
  • Risk, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and fire safety standards; maintain up-to-date risk assessments and ensure proper use and training of safety equipment.
  • Budget, Contracts & Reporting: Manage budgets and service charges transparently, oversee contracts, ensure accurate reporting and performance data, and drive continuous service improvement.
Neighbourhood Service Manager experience required:
  • Proven experience in team leadership, estate services delivery or managing a direct labour team
  • Understanding of health & safety, safeguarding, and compliance within housing or similar environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills; capable of managing change, solving problems and coaching teams
