Financial Controller - Oldham | Manufacturing | Sage 200 Experience Highly Desirable | Route to Finance Director
Robert Half is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Oldham with a turnover of around £20 million. They're looking for a Financial Controller to step into a key role within their finance function.
This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone with strong Sage 200 experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll be reporting directly to the Financial Director and playing a central part in both the day-to-day and strategic direction of the finance team.
Financial Management & Control
- Leading month-end processes, cash flow forecasting, management accounts, and budgeting
- Ensuring robust internal controls and accurate, timely reporting
- Supporting the Financial Director with financial strategy and planning
- Managing and developing a small finance team, driving a culture of accuracy and improvement
Sage 200 Systems Oversight
- Acting as the internal expert on Sage 200 - improving processes, training others, and ensuring data integrity
- Working with external support to resolve issues and implement system efficiencies
Commercial & Operational Insight
- Partnering with operational, commercial and production teams to provide meaningful financial insight
- Producing reports and analysis to support decision-making and help the business improve margins and manage costs
Compliance & Audit
- Preparing for year-end audit and ensuring all tax and statutory obligations are met
- Supporting the FD with external reporting and stakeholder communication
What You'll Need
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with solid manufacturing finance experience
- Proven background using Sage 200 in a similar environment
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- Comfortable working closely with non-finance teams
- Experience in continuous improvement or lean/Kaizen environments is a plus
- Knowledge of BOMs, stock control, or job/project costing would be useful
