Paying up to £35k + Benefits - Our client, a well-established organisation based in Oldham, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a 12-month FTC covering parental leave and will be starting mid/to the end of June 2025 so applicants must be available to start at short notice.
This is a full-time job opportunity working 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break (35 hours per week).
The job will initially be office based, however after training the role can be hybrid with 2 days in the office Wed/Thurs and 3 days WFH.
THE JOB
Reporting to the Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining fixed asset and lease schedules
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Supporting with month-end: accruals, journals, analysis, and reconciliations
- Preparing sales and stock reports
- Assisting with management reporting
THE PERSON
- AAT Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant - ACCA, CIMA
- Strong IT skills, notably Excel (V-lookups & Pivot Tables)
- Ability to communicate to different levels in the organisation
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
- Work under own initiative
- Experience with ERP systems
