Oldham Council are looking for a skilled Higher Business Support Officer to provide high-level administrative support to Children’s Social Care Services. This role is crucial for ensuring effective service delivery and supporting the achievement of service objectives. Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support including typing, producing presentations, formatting documents, and managing data across various systems.
- Produce a variety of information in different formats such as letters, reports, charts, maps, and tables, and undertake mail-merges using branded templates.
- Update and retrieve information from databases/spreadsheets, manipulate data using formulas, and create non-standard reports.
- Enter data into systems and ensure that information relevant to the service is accurate, up-to-date, and recorded accordingly.
- Run data reports, identify, analyse, and correct errors, and request additional details or clarification as needed.
- Maintain effective and efficient office and information systems, ensuring compliance with external requirements.
- Support the development and embedding of robust systems, processes, and working practices with a solution-focused approach.
- Assist with the diary management for assigned Senior Managers and take minutes at meetings as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in providing high-level administrative support, preferably within a public sector or social care setting.
- Strong ability to produce and manage documents and presentations, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with relevant legislation and policies.
- Understanding and experience in upholding policies including data protection, finance, ICT, safeguarding, and health & safety.
