School Site Caretaker / Maintenance Officer

Location: Oldham

Pay: 12-15 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Potential for permanent role for the right candidate

We are seeking an experienced and reliable School Site Supervisor / Maintenance operative to join our secondary school in Oldham. This role starts on 4th November and will run for 6-8 weeks, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You must be available full time Monday to Friday for the hours above, have 2 professional references and hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:

• General site supervision and upkeep

• Performing minor repairs and maintenance to school facilities

• Ensuring classrooms, corridors, and communal areas are clean, safe, and well-presented

• Supporting the setup and maintenance of school events and activities

Day-to-day duties include:

• Collecting and delivering parcels around the site

• Emptying internal and external bins, litter duties

• Assisting with general cleaning tasks as required

• Setting up rooms, halls, and facilities for events

• Working alongside other site team members on small maintenance projects

• Escorting contractors around the site

• Assisting with compliance checks, where applicable

• Following Health & Safety guidelines to complete tasks safely

• Key holding duties as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in site supervision, maintenance, or caretaking (essential)

• Ability to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance duties

• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

• Two professional references
