Job Summary

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, helping us create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal person will love working with children, especially those with special educational needs, including autism. You'll be assisting teachers with lessons, providing one-on-one support, and helping every student feel encouraged and valued.

Duties

  • Help teachers prepare and deliver lessons that are tailored to the needs of individual students.

  • Offer one-on-one support to students with disabilities so they can fully participate in all classroom activities.

  • Lead small group sessions to reinforce learning and help students better understand concepts.

  • Mentor students and guide them in developing key social and emotional skills.

  • Work with teachers to check on student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff about student needs and achievements.

  • Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and respect among peers.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs or disabilities.

  • Familiarity with teaching strategies and techniques used in special education.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, particularly when working with individuals on the autism spectrum.

  • Previous experience in a tutoring or mentoring role is a plus.

  • A genuine commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment that celebrates the diversity of all learners.
