Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum.

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning and help them achieve their full potential.

  • Assist in preparing teaching materials and resources.

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs or SEND.

  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Support with classroom management and behaviour strategies in line with school policies.

  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom times, such as lunch and playtimes.

  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents to support children's progress and wellbeing.



Person Specification

  • Essential: Minimum of 3 months' experience working as a Teaching Assistant (or similar role) in a UK primary school.

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently.

  • A proactive, patient, and flexible approach.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Desirable: Graduate-level education (particularly in Education, Psychology, or related fields).
