Do you want to work for an expanding supplier, dealing with a wide variety of products across toys, homewares, gift and seasonal?
Our client is looking to strengthen the design team with a driven and proactive individual, who’s eager to learn and develop their existing skills, in an exciting and fast paced creative working environment.
Duties include:
- Create and adapt design artwork across a variety of products, brands, and packaging.
- Contribute to the development of design concepts, mood boards, and creative presentations.
- Prepare product specification sheets, artwork files, and design assets for manufacturer use.
- Ensure all designs meet correct scaling, dimensions, and technical requirements for production.
- Develop product and packaging visuals, prototypes, and mock-ups.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite software proficiently to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Collaborate with and learn from senior designers to continually enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay informed on design technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Research competitor products, toy trends, and consumer insights to inspire commercial and trend-led design solutions.
- Apply brand guidelines consistently across packaging, labels, and instructions.
- Design die lines, graphics, and layouts that are both functional and visually engaging.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to review and approve print proofs and samples.
- Brief and guide photographers to capture required visuals for projects.
- Produce tailored artwork to meet the requirements of different customers and leading retailers.
- Understand and adhere to retailer-specific design and packaging standards.
- Proactively identify and resolve design-related issues internally before escalating to customers.
- Support colleagues in other departments during peak business periods.
Person Specification:
- University/college graduate or someone with 1–2 years’ industry experience, eager to learn and develop within a team of experienced designers.
- Ability to work across own-brand and licensed brands, following guidelines while pushing creative boundaries.
- Experience taking concepts through to full and final print-ready artwork.
- Strong technical knowledge of cutter guides, packaging, typography, and art working.
- Proficient in Apple Mac and Adobe Creative Cloud software, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
