Job Title: Mechanical Service Engineer

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is a field-based role that involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of our blasting equipment at customer sites. The role offers a varied and interesting workload, ideal for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to install, commission, service, and repair blasting and surface finishing equipment.
- Carry out detailed assessments of machine condition and complete accurate service reports.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues, particularly during emergency breakdowns.
- Identify and recommend improvements to equipment efficiency or productivity while on site.
- Undertake fitting, welding, and basic fabrication tasks during on-site repairs and renewals.
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong mechanical engineering skills.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Experience in fitting, welding, and on-site fabrication.
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and internal staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends, unsociable hours, and stay overnight as required.
