We are partnering with a warm, inclusive specialist school in Oldham that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Support Worker to join their established and supportive team. This rewarding role offers the chance to positively influence the lives of pupils who benefit from consistency, encouragement, and tailored support to reach their full potential.

SEMH Behaviour Support Worker - Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support learning activities, behaviour management, and targeted interventions
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and resilience throughout the school day
  • Support the monitoring of pupil progress and maintain clear communication with staff and families

SEMH Behaviour Support Worker - Person Specification

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (education, care, or youth settings)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour support
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A sound understanding of SEMH and SEND strategies
  • A relevant qualification in education, care, or support is advantageous but not essential

SEMH Behaviour Support Worker - To Be Eligible You Must:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
  • Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
