Are you a Science graduate looking to use your skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a number of well-regarded secondary schools across Oldham who are seeking enthusiastic and capable Science Technicians to join their teams from September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a Science degree to gain valuable experience in education while supporting the practical delivery of science lessons in secondary schools.

The Role:

As a Science Technician, you will play an essential role within the science department, ensuring the smooth and safe running of practical experiments. Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals.

  • Supporting teaching staff during demonstrations and lessons.

  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and managing inventories of stock and chemicals.

  • Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.

  • Keeping workspaces clean, organised, and well-maintained.

Requirements:
  • A degree in a Science-related subject is essential (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or equivalent).

  • Previous experience in a school or laboratory setting is desirable but not required.

  • Strong organisational skills and a meticulous approach to safety.

  • A positive and proactive attitude.

  • A genuine interest in supporting science education at secondary level.
