TimePlan Education is working closely with a thriving and ambitious secondary school in Oldham seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and helping them to reach their full academic potential.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work across KS3 and KS4, supporting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and providing targeted intervention to pupils who require additional help. You will spend time both in the classroom and in small-group settings, ensuring all learners remain engaged, confident and on track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support during English, Maths, Science and Humanities lessons
  • Run small-group intervention sessions to boost groups
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support to students with mild learning needs
  • Assist teachers with resources, planning and behaviour management
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Track pupil progress and report to teaching staff when required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, encouraging and adaptable attitude
  • Ability to model positive behaviour and support school values
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in core subjects; higher qualifications welcomed
