TimePlan Education is working closely with a thriving and ambitious secondary school in Oldham seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and helping them to reach their full academic potential.
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work across KS3 and KS4, supporting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and providing targeted intervention to pupils who require additional help. You will spend time both in the classroom and in small-group settings, ensuring all learners remain engaged, confident and on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support during English, Maths, Science and Humanities lessons
- Run small-group intervention sessions to boost groups
- Deliver tailored 1:1 support to students with mild learning needs
- Assist teachers with resources, planning and behaviour management
- Promote a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
- Track pupil progress and report to teaching staff when required
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, encouraging and adaptable attitude
- Ability to model positive behaviour and support school values
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in core subjects; higher qualifications welcomed
