Location: Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire

Activus Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a well-established, multi-disciplinary construction company in Aberdeenshire, who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

With over 30 years of experience delivering projects across the UK, our client has an excellent reputation within the industry. Their expertise spans concrete works, civil engineering, main contracting, and design & build, making them a trusted partner for a diverse range of projects.

The Role

This role is suited to a driven and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in civil engineering or construction. You will play a key part in the financial and contractual management of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, appointments, and valuations

  • Cost reporting and forecasting, including CVR preparation

  • Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations and change orders

  • Contract administration and client liaison

  • Carrying out regular site visits to monitor progress and costs

  • Preparing material requisitions and cost schedules

  • Supporting commercial strategy and ensuring financial control throughout projects

Personal Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering or construction sector

  • Strong understanding of contracts, commercial processes, and construction law

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical ability with a keen eye for detail

  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines under pressure

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software packages
