Gap Personnel who are operating as an employment business are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Warehouse Assistant for a company based in Burscough, L40 area.

This is a full-timepermanent position.

Our company has been exporting British grocery & confectionery products since 1987. Initially exporting to European markets, but more recently, specializing in supplying wholesale distribution companies in the United States, Canada and the far east.

The company has expanded considerably in recent years, and as a result we are now looking to employ a Warehouse Assistant to assist with the day to day running of the warehouse.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the smooth running of our warehouse operations, including picking, packing, loading/unloading, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, check, and store incoming goods.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare goods for dispatch and load/unload delivery vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and report discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet trucks) safely.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Assist with regular stock takes and inventory checks.

Requirements:

  • Previous warehouse or similar experience preferred but not essential.
  • Good level of physical fitness - ability to lift and move heavy items.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Forklift CB license
