Approach Personnel are proud to be partnered with aleading manufacturer of bespoke BMTRADA fire door sets based in Wakefield,dedicated to delivering high-quality, custom-made products to our clients. As a CNC Operator you will be responsible forprogramming, operating and managing all aspects of our CNC machinery, which includes two Holzher machines and one Weeke machine. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring our production runs smoothly and efficiently.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator & Programmer, (preferably from with the fire door industry or similar door manufacturing areas) with specific experience working on Holzher and Weeke machines.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation.
• Ability to manage production schedules and capacity planning.
• Experience with machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming & Operation: Develop and optimise CNC programs specifically for Holzher and Weeke machines to ensure efficient production of bespoke fire door sets. Operate CNC machines to produce high-quality components.
• Capacity Planning & Scheduling: Plan and manage production schedules to maximise machine utilisation and meet production deadlines.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Schedule regular maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they remain in top working condition. Coordinate repairs when necessary to minimise downtime.
• Training & Development: Supervise and mentor two junior staff members who are currently undergoing their CNC training. Provide them with guidance and support in their development.
• Team Supervision: Oversee the work of junior team members, ensuring they adhere to best practices and safety protocols while gaining hands-on experience with CNC operations.
