We’re working with a specialist SEN school that is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and experienced SEN Teacher to lead a class of pupils with a range of autism-related learning needs. This is a full-time position ideal for someone who understands the importance of structure, empathy, and firm but nurturing behaviour management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, structured lessons tailored to children with ASD and other additional needs
- Use strategies such as visual supports, sensory activities, and routine-based planning
- Maintain high standards of classroom management, supporting emotional regulation and learning
- Collaborate with support staff, SENCOs, therapists, and families to ensure individual pupil progress
- Track pupil development through EHCP outcomes and differentiated learning plans
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) – SEN specialism preferred but not essential
- Proven experience working with pupils with autism and associated communication or behaviour needs
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive education
- A reflective practitioner who can adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learners
