We are seeking an astute College Accountant to oversee financial matters within the Accounting & Finance department. The successful candidate will have a pivotal role in ensuring the financial stability of a prestigious educational institution.

Description

This position is based in Oxford, responsibilities include:

  • Assist with Quarterly VAT Returns and the annual Partial Exemption adjustment

路 Prepare and post endowment gains/losses and movement journals on a monthly and quarterly basis

路 Prepare and post nominal ledger journals, including depreciation and ad-hoc adjustments

路 Review creditors, debtors, and balance sheet items, making adjustments as necessary

路 Support month-end routines, including analysis of variances and commentary against budget

路 Post pension scheme and subsidiary journals

路 Assist with statutory year-end accounts and respond to audit queries

路 Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for budget holders and senior managers

路 Help prepare cashflow forecasts

Profile

A successful College Accountant you will be:

路 A Qualified Accountant

路 Can commute daily into central Oxford

路 Confident working with journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting independently

路 Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities

路 Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software

路 A good understanding of SORP
