Paraplanner, Oxford
Hybrid work after probation
Salary: Up to £50,000
This role is ideal for experienced and confident Paraplanners who are already Level 4 qualified and have strong report writing skills. You’ll be working closely with the lead adviser and play a central part in preparing and reviewing key client documents. If you're looking to stay in a technical role with the option of moving into advice later (though there’s no pressure to), this opportunity offers professional growth and meaningful work in a supportive, down-to-earth environment.
The Business
This is a well-established smaller sized financial advisory practice based in North Oxford. Known for its personalised service and commitment to long-term client relationships, the business provides holistic advice across a range of areas including investments, pensions, and more specialist solutions like EIS and VCTs. The close-knit team values collaboration, high standards, and doing the right thing for clients. While the firm is busy and professional, it also has a flexible, people-first ethos. They are looking to expand and the first step on that journey is getting a qualified paraplanner in place.
The Role
Working directly with the lead adviser, your primary responsibility will be crafting accurate and compliant reports. You’ll be involved in prepping advice records, post-review documentation, and ensuring suitability reports are in order — often using an auto-generated SL system, which you’ll then refine, check, and format as needed. You’ll also be expected to challenge and question advice where necessary — this is a collaborative relationship, and your insight is valued. You’ll mainly be office-based at first, working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. After probation, there’s flexibility to work up to 2 days per week from home.
Benefits
- Up to £50,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working: Office-based until probation completion, then 1-2 days remote per week
- 25 days plus bank holidays, with an extra day per year of service (capped at 30)
- Additional time off: Birthday off and a designated mental health day
- Pension scheme
