On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter on an initial 3-month contract. As the Aircraft Mechanical Fitter, you will be working for the largest helicopter manufacturer.

Role: Aircraft Mechanical Fitter
Pay: 21.05 per hour Via PAYE
Location: Oxford
Contract: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00 - 40 hours per week,3-month contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS, will require SC Clearnce

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishment of work for the Installation Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
  • Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Manufacture electrical looms and avionics systems in accordance with design data
  • Conduct off-aircraft work in workshops as required
  • Will also be required to assist in day to day running of the hangar, including aircraft movements and general house keeping
  • Required to work shifts as part of normal working routine
  • Flexible working attitude to deal with the changing priorities within the department
  • Manufacture parts from sheet material
  • Assemble parts manufactured by subcontractors
  • Work closely with the design office
  • Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Interpret design drawings and manufacture parts from sheet metal in both a production and prototype environment
  • Manufacture brackets and assemblies from sheet material
  • Work to design specification drawings
  • Will be working within a highly regulated environment
  • Remove and refit panels and cowlings to helicopters and equipment
  • Install brackets, doubler plates, etc in association with the embodiment of modifications to customers helicopters
  • Carry out repairs to aircraft structures

Essential Skills& Qualifications

  • Completed a formal aviation apprenticeship or related discipline.
  • Experience on Airbus Helicopters.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and on own initiative, as well as to high standards to ensure the continued, safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Experience of helicopter systems
  • Flexible with a positive approach and genuine enthusiasm for the role.
  • Reliable with ability to remain calm when under pressure.
  • Well organised and methodical - paying attention to detail.
  • Able to work to a shift pattern, as required.
  • Ability to accurately interpret detailed mechanical drawings and associated data
  • Have recent experience of manufacturing brackets and fittings from sheet metal
  • Recent experience of on and off aircraft repairs using sheet material
  • Experience of riveting techniques and ability to carry out riveting on and off the aircraft
  • Driving license
