Overview A Commissioning Engineer is required to support a controls upgrade project on a large technical site in Harwell. The role focuses on the migration and commissioning of building management systems from IQ3 to IQ5, ensuring smooth integration, reliable operation and full compliance with project standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out commissioning activities associated with the upgrade from IQ3 to IQ5 hardware and software.
Test, diagnose and resolve issues during commissioning to achieve full system functionality.
Review existing control strategies and ensure accurate transfer to the upgraded platform.
Complete system checks, I/O testing and validation of installed equipment.
Liaise with project managers, onsite teams and stakeholders to maintain clear progress updates.
Produce commissioning documentation, including test records, reports and handover information.
Ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with site procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in BMS commissioning, ideally with experience working on Trend systems.
Knowledge of IQ3 and IQ5 controllers, configuration tools and commissioning processes.
Ability to interpret control drawings, schematics and project documentation.
Good fault-finding skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
Comfortable working independently on a busy, operational site.
