Are you an experienced Mechanical engineer? Do you have AP tickets including medical gases and ventilation? If so my client has a role for you - As Mechanical AP you will supervise and manage a team to maintain and repair essential Mechanical building systems. You'll be responsible for coordinating work, ensuring compliance, and fostering a high-performing maintenance culture. This is a static role working Monday - Friday 40 hours a week based at a large hospital site in Oxford.

Main Duties include:

  • Supervise and manage a dedicated team to maintain and repair essential building systems.
  • Responsible for coordinating work, ensuring compliance, and fostering a high-performing maintenance culture.
  • Effectively plan and execute all types of work including planned maintenance, projects, reactive repairs, and remedial work within scope and quality standards.
  • Safely and effectively deal with reactive breakdowns
  • Create and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work
  • Review and create maintenance reports and technical procedures.
  • Act as the technical lead on Mechanical services, overseeing a team performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various systems, including ventilation and medical gas equipment
  • Supervise the diagnosis of faults and ensure rectification
  • Act as the APMGPS (Authorised Person Medical Gas Pipeline Systems) and APVENT (Authorised Person Ventilation)
  • Be involved in recruitment within the mechanical maintenance team team
  • Participate in emergency call-out arrangements and provide cover for sickness absence.

The ideal candidate will need:

  • Mechanically qualified with City and guilds or NVQ Equivalent
  • AP tickets to include Medical gas and Ventilation
  • Experience ideally working within an R&D or health care setting
  • Experience of managing direct and indirect labour
  • Able to complete and pass a DBS Check
  • Full UK driving licence
