Computational Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Computational Design Engineer with strong expertise in parametric and computational design to support an innovative product development team. You will be responsible for designing optimized structural and thermal components, tailored specifically for manufacturing processes, and driving solutions from concept generation through to detailed CAD designs and final production. Collaboration with simulation, manufacturing, and process engineers will be essential to ensure design feasibility and performance.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer complex, high-performance components

Develop advanced parametric and computational models utilizing tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper, and nTop.

Propose rapid and innovative design concepts addressing specific customer requirements.

Refine and finalize designs through detailed CAD modelling and iterative optimization.

Collaborate closely with manufacturing, simulation, and process engineers to ensure designs meet DFM and performance criteria.


Essential

Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Design, Industrial Design, Mathematics, or a related field.

Expertise designing and engineering complex, high-performance components.

Proficient with surface modelling.

Experience developing parametric and computational design models utilizing tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper, and nTop.

Ability to propose rapid and innovative design concepts addressing specific customer requirements.

Good understanding of mechanical product assemblies and the ability to propose improved and part-consolidated assemblies.


Desirable

Experience with multiple CAD platforms (Rhino, Autodesk Fusion360, SolidWorks, etc.)

Familiarity with structural, thermal, or fluid flow simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus, etc.).

Knowledge of thermal management and liquid cooling system design.

Knowledge of structural design for drop.

Knowledge of safety-factor driven design.

Previous experience within an engineering consultancy or product development environment.
