Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Design and Documentation:
- Create electrical schematics and BOMs (Bill of Materials) for complex systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Develop electrical designs for systems and components, ensuring alignment with relevant industry standards and codes.
- Produce test procedures and documentation, providing a clear, structured approach for system validation.
- Assembly and Testing Support:
- Collaborate with senior engineers to build and assemble electrical cabinets and sub-assemblies.
- Support electrical testing and troubleshooting of systems, ensuring that all components meet specifications and performance requirements.
- Quality and Standards Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards, including IEC 60204, IEC 61010, and any relevant national standards.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, revisions, and project documentation to ensure traceability and quality assurance.
- Collaborative Work:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers and scientists, to ensure the seamless integration of electrical designs into the overall systems.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, with hands-on experience in creating electrical schematics and designs.
- Solid understanding of electrical standards and codes, with familiarity with relevant design practices and safety regulations.
- Strong technical background in electrical engineering, with the ability to interpret and apply electrical drawings and specifications.
- Practical experience in electrical assembly and testing is a plus.
- Familiarity with building electrical cabinets and working on high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification is a plus.
- Experience in the fusion energy sector or working in a high-tech R&D environment would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and automation is advantageous.
