Pyro Assembly Operative – Oxford

Salary: £26,500

A leading aerospace manufacturer in Oxford is seeking a Pyro Assembly Operative to join its Pyro Manufacturing Department. This hands-on role is central to producing critical safety components used in high-reliability systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle explosive materials, components and goods safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and production documents, ensuring all Part Numbers, Drawing Issues, Working Practices and Batch details are correctly followed and recorded.
• Assemble components with precision, working to tight tolerances.
• Use weighing equipment and relevant tools specific to each batch.
• Carry out self-inspection and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
• Maintain accurate work-in-progress records in SAP.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Basic ability to understand engineering drawings.
• Awareness of health & safety procedures.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Team-focused, yet capable of working independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.
