Pyro Assembly Operative – Oxford
Salary: £26,500
A leading aerospace manufacturer in Oxford is seeking a Pyro Assembly Operative to join its Pyro Manufacturing Department. This hands-on role is central to producing critical safety components used in high-reliability systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle explosive materials, components and goods safely and in accordance with procedures.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings and production documents, ensuring all Part Numbers, Drawing Issues, Working Practices and Batch details are correctly followed and recorded.
- Assemble components with precision, working to tight tolerances.
- Use weighing equipment and relevant tools specific to each batch.
- Carry out self-inspection and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
- Maintain accurate work-in-progress records in SAP.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Basic ability to understand engineering drawings.
- Awareness of health & safety procedures.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
- Team-focused, yet capable of working independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.
