Astute's Renewables Team is exclusively partnering with a company in the UK's renewable energy market, looking for a Senior Authorised Person to cover their southern region. The company operate a variety of technologies: utility scale solar, BESS and EV charging solutions.

The Senior Authorised Person role comes with a salary up to 62,500 plus excellent call out and overtime rates plus an EV too.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Authorised Person role

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will:

  • Carry out various high voltage duties, including O&M, fault-finding, HV constriction and commissioning
  • Leading on High Voltage fault investigation and reporting this to management
  • Completing High Voltage as per the annual PPM plan
  • Adhering to the health and safety policies at all times
  • Issuing Safety Documents in line with the company's Electrical Safety Rules
  • Supervise and coordinate third party contractors on site
  • Keep accurate records of electrical testing, High Voltage switching schedules and safety documents, suitable for audit
  • Support the Manager in writing and approving High Voltage reports and RAMS
  • Travel across the South (Birmingham ish down) and all across the South, being prepared to travel further if and when required for business need
  • Be open to staying overnight regularly for business need


Professional qualifications


We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HV authorisation up to a minimum of 33kV, 132kV would be even better (an experienced 11kV underground DNO SAP would be considered)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Working knowledge of G99 relays
  • Proven experience SAP-level High Voltage work experience
  • A Health and Safety qualification is beneficial
  • Must have authorisation to issue SFT, PTW

The Senior Authorised Person role would suit someone who is:

  • Experience in commissioning HV switchgear, cable testing and construction works
  • Flexible when it comes to travel and happy to stay away regularly
  • Able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced sector but with Health and Safety at the forefront
