BMS Engineer (Trend / Tridium)

Oxfordshire (Regional Role)

Salary: 60K+ Depending On Experience

Regional Recruitment is working with an established building controls specialist based in Oxfordshire, supporting projects across commercial, public sector, and healthcare environments. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled BMS Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Trend and/or Tridium Niagara to support commissioning, project delivery, optimisation, and client support across the region.

This role is ideal for an engineer experienced in BMS commissioning who also enjoys involvement in project coordination, system delivery, and working closely with end clients. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking business focused on modern building automation, smart controls, and decarbonisation-led upgrades.

Responsibilities

Commissioning & Engineering

  • Commission, configure, and optimise Trend and Tridium Niagara (AX/N4) systems.
  • Interpret and modify software, graphics, control logic, and system parameters.
  • Conduct I/O testing, functional checks, and plant room verification.
  • Troubleshoot BMS faults and provide effective technical resolutions.
  • Review and work from control panel layouts, electrical schematics, and points lists.
  • Produce commissioning reports, O&M documentation, and handover packs.

Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Support end-to-end delivery of BMS projects, from early involvement through to final handover.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality, and address technical issues.
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and end clients to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Support projects aligned with Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) requirements, including low-carbon technology integration.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, site safety, and client specifications.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a BMS Engineer with hands-on Trend and/or Tridium experience.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC plant operation and building services.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control strategies, and I/O schedules.
  • Confident in fault-finding, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality commissioning work.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to support clients and work collaboratively with wider teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, MQTT or other integration protocols.
  • Experience with Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, or other BMS platforms.
  • Electrical qualifications, F-Gas, or relevant technical training.
  • Experience delivering projects within healthcare, education, or public sector environments.
  • Familiarity with decarbonisation projects and energy optimisation.
  • Ability to travel
