The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Resident Maintenance Engineer to join a globally recognised materials handling solutions provider, working onsite at a major  manufacturing facility in Oxford.

This is a hands-on engineering role at a customer site, maintaining a variety of material handling equipment. You'll be the first point of contact for technical support, maintenance, and diagnostics, helping to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on forklifts and industrial trucks

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults

  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns

  • Maintain service records and documentation

  • Communicate directly with the customer to ensure excellent service

  • Manage workloads and prioritise urgent tasks independently

What We're Looking For:
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience essential

  • Understanding of bearings, belts, chains, and hydraulic systems

  • A customer-focused, personable, and self-motivated individual

  • Comfortable with shift-based work and working independently on-site

Shift Pattern:
  • Days (Monday to Saturday):

    • Shift A: 06:00 - 16:00

    • Shift B: 07:00 - 17:00

  • Nights (Sunday to Friday):

    • Shift E: 16:00 - 02:00

    • Shift F: 18:00 - 04:00

Attractive shift allowances include:

  • Up to £90 per night (Sunday)

  • £35-£50 per weekday/night or Saturday shifts

Shift Cycle Offers Excellent Time Off:

  • Rotational weeks off after shifts

  • 10-hour days enable extended rest periods
