Site Manager - Anaerobic Digestion

60,000 + Package

Alecto Recruitment is partnering with a market leader in the Anaerobic Digestion sector who are currently looking for a site Manager to manage the day-to-day operations on their Oxford site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of operators and maintenance staff responsible for the daily operation of the AD plant, including planning and scheduling work, monitoring performance and conducting training.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations and standards, including the preparation of risk assessments and safety procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration in the delivery of services.
  • Manage site budgets and resources, including the procurement of materials and equipment, and the coordination of maintenance and repair work.
  • Monitor and report on site performance, including the production of biogas and the quality of the end products, and implement improvement initiatives as required.
  • Develop and maintain effective record-keeping systems, including maintaining accurate logs of plant operations and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the AD plant.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the wider business, including contributing to the development of new AD projects and initiatives.
  • Liaising with local farmers and contractors about the timings and quantities of deliveries

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • WAMITAB COTC 4 - advantageous
  • Telehandler/ loading shovel experience
  • Ideally 5 years of relevant experience in the management of an AD plant or similar waste management facility.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of the principles of anaerobic digestion, biogas production and end product quality.
