Project Engineer
Location: Oxfordshire
Contract: 6 Months Contract
Pay Rates: 450/475 Per Day
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Temporary Project Engineer to support time-critical engineering projects. This fixed-term role is ideal for individuals who can quickly integrate into a dynamic environment, take ownership of tasks, and ensure projects progress smoothly to meet demanding delivery timelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to projects that enhance products and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Mission and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain structured project plans, schedules, and task lists, clearly defining deliverables and aligning them with business objectives.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Process Engineers, Facilities Engineers, Operations teams, and suppliers to maintain alignment, resolve blockers, and ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor progress against milestones, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all equipment, tooling, and materials are correctly specified, ordered, and delivered on time to support efficient project execution.
- Provide hands-on engineering support in production or test areas as needed, resolving issues promptly.
- Apply structured problem-solving approaches to investigate technical issues and implement pragmatic solutions.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and engineering standards, ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience delivering engineering or manufacturing projects, ideally in fast-paced or time-sensitive environments.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and escalate issues when necessary.
- Comfortable performing hands-on engineering tasks and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with equipment procurement, supplier engagement, or production-related project work.
- Familiarity with NPI, process development, or engineering change activities.
- Quick to learn new systems, processes, and engineering workflows.
