A newly-created post working for a highly successful, large multinational, this role is pivotal in managing multi-country payroll tasks with a focus on Germany. You will ensure timely and accurate data delivery to our outsourced vendor, maintaining compliance with legal standards. This remote position offers a chance to handle complex payroll functions in a dynamic, international environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Execute routine payroll tasks and ensure timely submission of payroll data to local providers, for a German payroll of 600 staff, plus some other smaller payrolls.
  • Manage employee benefit schemes in Germany and support harmonisation and reconciliation efforts.
  • Ensure correct and punctual salary payments, including deductions and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries and escalate operational issues as needed.
  • Follow internal controls, support audits, and ensure adherence to payroll regulations.
  • Identify and implement payroll process enhancements; maintain documentation and attend regular training.
  • Prepare payroll reports, year-end filings, and support tax and social security compliance.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, supporting payroll projects and initiatives across EMEAI.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Vocational qualification or upper secondary education in business, finance, or administration; payroll certifications preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in multi-country payroll, with strong expertise in German payroll laws, systems, and compliance.
  • Fluent in German and English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Proficient in payroll systems and time & attendance tools; capable of interpreting regulatory changes and assessing their impact.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll transitions and implementations across regions.
  • Strong communicator, problem solver, and conflict resolver with a customer service mindset.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to shifting priorities and change.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to excellence and continuous process improvement.
