Info about what the Product Manager role entails

The successful candidate will serve as the central link between our customers and our internal teams. This role requires deep customer engagement to identify market needs and opportunities, especially where our existing technology can be leveraged for new markets. You will be responsible for creating compelling, innovative product visions and strategies that are both technically feasible and commercially profitable. Your ability to bridge engineering, sales, and marketing will be critical for driving product innovation and adoption across the business.

The Product Manager will be responsible for the following:

Strategy & Vision

  • Define Product Strategy: Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for positioning systems, focusing on expansion into new markets.
  • Identify Opportunities: Conduct market research and analyse customer needs to find innovative uses for our existing technology.
  • Prioritize Development: Manage the product lifecycle by defining and prioritizing features that are both customer-centric and commercially viable.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Serve as the Bridge: Collaborate across teams (Engineering, Sales, Marketing) to ensure product success from concept through launch.
  • Integrate Innovation: Coordinate with the R&D team to incorporate new technologies into future roadmaps.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical insights and assistance to internal teams, including supporting technical discussions.

Customer & Market

  • Engage Customers: Directly engage with customers to gather detailed requirements and foster long-term relationships.
  • Support Go-to-Market: Provide technical expertise and ensure effective product positioning to support sales and marketing efforts.

Essential Requirements of a Product Manager role

  • A university degree (Master's preferred) in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Computer Science.
  • A history of not just managing, but successfully launching innovative products from concept to market.
  • The expertise to deeply understand customer problems and convert those insights into a clear, actionable product roadmap.
  • Proven ability to spot and execute opportunities to introduce products to new or expanded markets.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively, manage stakeholders, and lead diverse teams (technical and non-technical) toward a common goal.
  • The core skill of making sound business decisions that balance customer desires, technical realities, and the potential for business growth.
