This is an exciting time to join our Children, Education & Families directorate, as we shape the future of children’s services in Oxfordshire. Our colleagues are dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people, and families, helping them to thrive through a restorative, relational practice approach. We are expanding our Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, Improvement and Partnerships division, with a strong focus on inspection readiness and service improvement. You will

  • Lead on the delivery of the quality assurance framework across directorates.
  • Ensure learning from quality assurance activity is translated into action and embedded into practice.
  • Promote relationship-based social work practice principles.
  • Support the implementation of systemic, family safeguarding, and solution-focused approaches and tools.
  • Take operational responsibility for preparing services for inspections.
  • You are a confident practitioner who is motivated to make a tangible difference to the lives of children and young people. You thrive in a Quality Assurance and Service Improvement environment, are proactive in driving change, and confident in constructively challenging practices, systems, and processes.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified in Social Work (or equivalent) with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in applying and embedding quality assurance frameworks.
  • Analytical, with strong skills in identifying patterns, themes, and trends in data and practice.
  • Experienced in delivering evidence-based service improvement initiatives.
  • Resilient, collaborative, and able to inspire and support colleagues to embrace change.
