The Role
The school seeks to appoint a motivated and reflective Religious Studies Teacher to join a dynamic Humanities faculty. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5 and play an active role in the broader academic and ethical life of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons to students at KS3–KS5

  • Encourage critical thinking, empathy, and respectful debate across worldviews

  • Prepare students for external examinations with a focus on academic rigour

  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives

  • Take part in whole-school activities and contribute to assemblies and enrichment programmes

Person Specification
Essential

  • A degree in Theology, Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a related field

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at KS3 and KS4; KS5 desirable

  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills

Desirable

  • Familiarity with GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies specifications

  • Experience in a grammar or academically selective school setting
