These students often struggle with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges and need guidance to build positive coping strategies, manage conflict, and regulate their emotions. Your role will be vital in helping them re-engage with learning and rebuild their confidence.

Your role as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Supporting students one-to-one and in small groups with their behaviour and emotional needs
  • Helping students manage frustration, anxiety, and anger through positive behaviour strategies
  • Working closely with class teachers and therapists to deliver consistent, personalised support
  • Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and effective conflict resolution techniques
  • Acting as a calm, steady presence and positive role model throughout the school day
  • Encouraging student participation, engagement, and a sense of achievement

What you need to be a good Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • A compassionate, confident, and patient individual with a genuine passion for helping young people
