This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced motion-capture and tracking technology used across entertainment, engineering, and scientific research. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Lead Production Technician oversees the production build process combining hands-on assembly and testing with team leadership and workflow coordination.

Key responsibilities
  • Supervise Assemblers and delegate tasks to meet productivity and quality targets.
  • Convert build plans into Manufacturing Orders and manage them through to completion.
  • Assemble, program, test and align electro-mechanical units.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to component level.
  • Oversee kitting and ensure accurate ERP stock transactions.
  • Support stock control, organisation and stock take.
  • Use correct documentation and maintain build accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design and Production teams on improvements and prototypes.
  • Liaise with test engineers on order progression and RMAs.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and safe working practices.
  • Contribute to quality control, waste reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Support training activities and flexible working within the team.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Proven experience leading or supervising technical teams.
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a focused and collaborative team.
