Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisorleads and supports a small maintenance team, ensuring high standards across all general maintenance activities. Act as the first point of contact for maintenance enquiries, supervise contractors, and oversee reactive and proactive maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team.
  • Manage HR processes like absence, performance, and training.
  • Oversee maintenance requests via Zendesk and ensure timely completion.
  • Supervise contractors and inspect work quality.
  • Support and maintain systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Assist with planned maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects.
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance records.
  • Carry out hands-on maintenance, repairs, decorating, and minor installations.
  • Take part in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
  • Act as a Fire Warden and First Aider.

Requirements of Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Good general education; relevant H&S qualifications are a bonus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and join the call-out rota.
  • Experience with compliance record keeping and building inspections.
  • Solid experience in maintenance and team leadership.
  • Skilled across general trades (plumbing, electrics, carpentry).
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Confident with IT systems (e.g., MS Office) and maintenance ticketing systems.
  • Calm, organised, and a hands-on team player.
