We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team here at The Boathouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in busy food enviroments, a commitment to excellence, and a deep understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. You will play a key role in creating high-quality dishes, maintaining the high standards set in the kitchen, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard.

  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal updates.

  • Maintain full compliance with food safety and food hygiene regulations.

  • Monitor inventory, minimize waste, and ensure efficient stock control.

  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.

  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Uphold company standards for quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Chef or Senior Cook in a busy kitchen environment.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, food hygiene, and allergen management.

  • Relevant food hygiene certification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety Certificate).

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistent results.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Passion for cooking, creativity, and attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Formal culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

  • Experience with menu costing and stock management systems.

  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and sustainable sourcing practices.
