About the Role:

21 Health and Social Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join one of our clients in Midlothian, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in overseeing support plans, leading staff, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. You will work closely with individuals facing homelessness, supporting them with housing, health, and well-being while promoting independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage personalised support plans, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly to meet individual needs.
  • Assist individuals in accessing education, employment, housing, and recreational opportunities to improve their quality of life.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to support staff, ensuring best practices and a person-centred approach.
  • Manage and assess risks, ensuring safety for service users, staff, and the wider community.
  • Assist with medication management and help service users attend health appointments.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of all support provided, maintaining professional and respectful documentation.
  • Take the role of shift leader when required, overseeing the team in the absence of the Service Manager or Team Leader.
  • Provide regular supervision and development opportunities for support staff, ensuring a motivated and effective team.

About You:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a social care setting, particularly within homelessness services or a related field.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise and support staff while leading by example.
  • Qualifications: SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Driving Licence: Desirable but not essential.
