Duration - 12 months initial contract Umbrella then potentially to become permanent

Start date - ASAP (subject to being medically and security cleared)

Shift patterns - Mon-Fri 37.5hours per week (hybrid - 3 days in office 2 days at home)

Pay rate - upto 45ph Umbrella DOE

Location - Combination of Sellafield and Whitehaven office

Working under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager, responsible for the delivery of a project management service from feasibility through design, construction and handover.

Responsible for the delivery of either work packages as part of a large complex project, complete delivery of a small project or multiple minor tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

* Planning, directing and co-ordinating the team's activities to manage and implement projects and/or interrelated projects from initiation to final close down.
* Determines and monitors and reviews all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk.
* Identifies and assembles the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements.
* Plans, schedules, monitors and reports on activities related to the project.
* Adheres to the established project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plan.
* Undertakes status review meetings among project team members and customers. Advises Senior Management on project management capability and risk.
* Controls project requirements, scope and change management issues.
* Creates communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information exchange among key stakeholders.
* Accountable for delivering the package, project or minor task to time, cost and quality.

Key Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills
* Bachelor's degree in applicable disciplines such as Project Management, Engineering, Business and Construction Management. Or appropriate APM Qualification.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Primavera or Microsoft Project.
Knowledge of a number of aspects of the nuclear cycle (reprocessing, waste management, decommissioning, power generation)
* Familiarity with UK regulatory regimes (ONR, EA, etc.)
* Proven leadership and management skills
* Knowledge and experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
Personal Qualities
* Good interpersonal skills such as effective verbal and written communications
* Ability to lead and direct team
* Able to develop relationships with stakeholders in upper management positions
* Ability to analyse problems, establish facts and make complex decisions with little to no supervision.
* Ability to drive change/ changes in working practices

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 or more years of applicable project management experience required;

Other Requirements

  • Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industry

  • Working on 1 project or a no. of projects within a framework on the SL site
