Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to join a specialist school in Allerdale that supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students who need it most.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with small groups of pupils who may have experienced trauma, disrupted education, or behavioural challenges. Your role will involve delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that supports not just academic progress but also emotional and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the needs of students with SEMH and associated learning difficulties.
  • Foster positive relationships and promote a nurturing, safe classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour and implement effective strategies to manage challenging behaviours calmly and consistently.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or significant teaching experience in alternative or specialist settings.
  • A passion for working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
