About the Role:

Are you a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are currently seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Cumbria.

You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop life skills. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children who require additional support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties).
  • Implement EHCP strategies and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support the emotional, social, and academic development of pupils.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEN (in a school, care, or youth setting)
A patient and positive approach to learning support
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)
A valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
